The Goal
Generate positive media and brand awareness surrounding the introduction of Volvo's flagship fully-electric SUV. With a long lead time to rubber meeting road, keep purchase interest at an all-time high to encourage deposit retention, until market release.
The Idea
Translate the EX90’s human-centric technology into a warm, friendly personality, and invite Canadian media to get to know it better.
First to showcase the new flagship SUV was an event set in central Stockholm, Sweden. Welcoming visitors to a venue glowing with light, growing stronger as they moved closer to the car and guiding them to the interior where they could step into a sensorial journey and learn about its innovative features.
This was followed by a Canadian market tour, where a technically functional vehicle was brought to Canadian media and depositors for an intimate and personal introduction. Using first-person simple language, the car spoke to viewers in a way that can be read both as a description of one of the features, or as something a friend would say to another, emphasizing the EX90’s warm personality and humanizing its technology.

Playing on the simplicity, functionality, and minimalism of the vehicles design, media were provided unfiltered access to the vehicle in full. In an industry where every car manufacturer does everything they can to get noticed, Volvo simply showed the car’s ability to notice the world.
